  biological source:   Coriandrum Sativum

 Family: Umbelifere

  Main Chemical constituent :

·      +Linalool  (65-70%)

·       Pinene.

 Other chemical constitutes are :

 Geraniol, Borncol, Para-Cymene, Dipentene,Camphor,  Pellandrene,

 Alpha and Bita Turpineneare

Use:

1. Flavouring agent, Carminative.

2. Aromatic,  Stomachic, Diuretic, refrigerant,

Anti-bilious

cinnamon oil

 


Biological source: Cinnamomum Cassia

Main chemical constituent:

·      Cinnamoldehyde (80-95 %)

Other chemical constitutions:

·      Limonene

·      Para-Eymene

·      Linalool

·      Bita Caryophyllene

·      Eugenol

Use:

1. pungent, carminative, aromatic, powerful germicide, antiseptic, mild astringent properties.

 


Clove oil



Biological source: Eugenia Caryophyllus

Family: Mytaceae

Main chemical constituent:

Volatile oil:

·      Eugenol(85-90%)

·      Acetyl Eugenol(3%)

·      Alpha and bita Caryophyllene

Other chemical constituent:

·      Tannins (10-13%)

·      Triterpenic acid

·      Ester

Eugenol

  Acetyl Eugenol

Use:

1. Use in toothpaste as a remedy of dental carries.

2. it is used as antiseptic and use as  counter-irritant properties.

3. it is used as stimulant agent.

4. it is also used as flavoring agent.



      

Spearmint (mint/pudina )

Biological source: Spearmint consists of the dried leaf & flower tops of Mentha spicata or M. cardiata.

Family: Labiatae.

Geographical source : The plant is found in European & Asian countries & widely cultivated in U.S.A.

chemical constitutions : spearmint contains-

(1)volatile oils (0.5%)

The principal component is carvone (50-55%) along with some other monoterpenic constitutents like limonene, phellandrene, dipentene cineol, Alpha-pinene, Linalool etc.

 (3)tannin.


Uses :

1. It is used as flavouring agent, spice & carminative

2. It  is given in fever, vomiting & bronchitis.

3. It is employed as a lotion in aphthae.

4. It is considered as an antispasmodic.

5. It is a diuretic that promotes urine flow.

6. It is considered as an effective expectorant that helps of expel excess mucus.

       মোলারিটি সম্পর্কে আগেই আলোচনা করেছি।না পড়ে থাকলে  মোলারিটি র উপর ক্লিক করো। নরমালিটি  সম্পর্কে জানার আগে আমাদের জানা দরকার গ্রাম তুল্য ভর আসলে কী। দ্রবণে কোন মৌলের মোলারিটিকে তার যোজনী দিয়ে ভাগ করলে ঐ মৌলের গ্রাম তুল্য ভর পাওয়া যায়। আর যৌগের ক্ষেত্রে কোন যৌগের কয় মোল অপর কোন যৌগের সাথে বিক্রিয়া করছে, সেই সংখ্যা দিয়ে মোলারিটিকে ভাগ দিলে তার গ্রাম তুল্য ভর পাওয়া যায়। ভিন্ন ভিন্ন বিক্রিয়ার ক্ষেত্রে যেহেতু এসবের মান পরিবর্তন হয়ে যেতে পারে, তাই গ্রাম তুল্য এককের মানও পরিবর্তিত হয়ে যেতে পারে। এবার চলো নরমালিটি সম্পর্কে  জেনে আসি: নরমালিটি = গ্রাম তুল্য ভর / দ্রবণের আয়তন। একে N দিয়ে প্রকাশ করা হয়ে থাকে। কোন দ্রবণের নরমালিটি ১ হলে তাকে বলে ১ নর্মাল দ্রবণ। উদাহরণ হিসেবে, সালফিউরিক এসিডের H₂SO₄ দ্রবণে প্রতি লিটারে ৯৮ গ্রাম এসিড দ্রবীভূত থাকলে অম্ল-ক্ষার বিক্রিয়ার ক্ষেত্রে এর নরমালিটি হবে ২।(আরো সহজ করে বলি,যৌগের ভরকে যৌগে যতগুলো H থাকবে বা H সমতুল্য যতটা থাকবে ততদিয়ে ভাগ করতে হবে) সালফিউরিক এসিডে ২ মোল H⁺ আয়ন থাকায়( H₂SO₄ এ H আছে ২ টি)প্রতি ১ মোল ক্ষারের সাথে বিক্রিয়া করতে পারে ০.৫ মোল।
